Henry seeks to interrogate the relationship between body and object, revealing the intrinsic connection formed through their interaction. His piece, the ‘BENT’ chair, is the inaugural work in a series that embodies this concept. With its striking simplicity and defiant form, the chair is crafted from bent 5mm stainless steel that embraces the sitter, precariously balancing on defined points.

The chair juxtaposes softness with hardness, fluidity with solidity. Accompanying images depict a supple body, contorted and expressive, embodying the human dimensions of desire and emotion. In contrast, the chair represents strength, structure, and seduction. Through this interplay, Henry captures the essence of longing, tension, and the unspoken dynamics that characterise gay cruising, reflecting both sexual tension and emotional rawness.
